Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools board discusses finances, building projects, with 50 days until superintendent’s retirement
The search for an interim superintendent is ongoing.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. —
As students and staff wrapped up their second day of school, the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools Board of Education met for a work session to discuss several big topics with just 50 days until Superintendent Don Phipps’ retirement.
Phipps announced his decision to resign and retire about halfway through his 15-month contract with the district last week. He said he is stepping away to take care of his 88-year-old mother.
