There was a lot of talk at the Business Council of Australia’s annual dinner last week about the need to improve Australia’s poor productivity.
To achieve that, it was agreed, government and business must work together.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said: “My theme tonight is the need for a positive partnership between government, business and the community to keep our economy strong.”
BCA president Geoff Culbert said: “The government and the business sector need to work together to explain why change is needed.”
BCA chief executive Bran Black named all the ministers he has been working with, who were all present at the dinner, as it happens, and said: “It’s clear there are many areas in which government and business can work together to make Australia a top-10 investment destination and lift living standards.”
