Brandy Christian, who has served as CEO of the Port of New Orleans since 2017, is stepping down from her position to take a new job in the private sector, the port announced Tuesday.
Christian’s departure comes as the port is planning to begin construction of the $1.8 billion Louisiana International Terminal in St. Bernard Parish, its largest expansion project in decades and one aimed at better competing with other Southern ports for container-based shipping.
