The recent closure of Burlington’s Coat Factory in Euclid is leaving some City Council members with questions regarding the state of retail businesses in the city.
The store, which was located at 22400 Shore Center Drive, closed earlier this year after the owner’s lease expired.
Citing the new Willoughby Hills location which is set to open on May 29, councilmember Richard Tolton asked during their May 18 meeting if they tried to retain Burlington and if the administration knew of any other businesses interested in occupying the now vacant space.
“I knew for a couple weeks that Burlington was closing and they were opening a new one in Willoughby Hills,” Tolton said to council. “But since they’re gone.
