Governor Evers has declared a period of economic disruption in four counties following last month’s severe storms.
The declaration covers Outagamie, Winnebago, Forest, and Vilas counties. The storms spawned an EF3 tornado in the Fox Cities and damaged homes, businesses, schools, and communities. Evers’ executive order directs the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection to enforce anti-price-gouging measures on daily necessities and lodging. Evers says the protections aim to prevent residents recovering from the storms from facing high prices on essential goods and services.
