The U.S. dollar went up against the Vietnamese dong on the black market Saturday morning.
Unofficial exchange points sold the greenback 0.12% higher at VND25,890. Vietcombank kept its rate unchanged at VND26,260.
Globally the U.S. dollar saw strong gains on Friday, putting it on track for its biggest daily climb in 2-1/2 months after U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh hinted that interest rate hikes may be needed should policymakers doubt that inflation is headed back toward the central bank’s 2% target, Reuters reported.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against a basket of currencies, rose 0.59%, on track for its biggest gain since June 17, to 99.69, after hitting 99.727, its highest level since August 17. The euro was off 0.59% at $1.1582 after falling to $1.1577, its lowest level since August…
