NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio –
Robbery: Clague Road
Officers at 9:54 p.m. on Oct. 2 responded to the Dollar General store after a clerk was robbed at knifepoint.
Two men wearing hoodies and facemasks entered the store, walked directly to the cash register, and demanded money, according to a police report. The clerk, thinking it was a joke, initially laughed and told them, no. The men both pulled out knives and told the clerk that they would stab him if he didn’t give them the cash, according to the police report.
The clerk then told the men he couldn’t open the cash register unless someone made a purchase. One of the men grabbed a container of orange Tic Tac candies and put them on the counter. The clerk rang up the item and handed the cash to one of the men.
The clerk and his manager estimated the loss at $200 to $300. Police have surveillance video of the suspects.
