Sunbury, Pa. — Ground will be broken soon for a McDonald’s fast-food restaurant on North Fourth Street in Sunbury, according to officials.
Sunbury City Council approved final plans for the restaurant at their June 10 meeting, according to Michael Rhoads, Sunbury’s city codes department officer. The groundbreaking at the site close to 1183 North Fourth Street will begin on June 24. The restaurant is expected to be completed by Nov. 11, Rhoads said. The restaurant will be next to the Sherwin-Williams Paints store in front of North Fourth Street Plaza.
McDonald’s corporate first presented plans to the city in April 2023. A small portion of the land is part of Upper Augusta Township, and officials there also reviewed plans. Rhoads said both the township…
