Mayor Bobby Scott announced that the City of Center Point has been selected to participate in the next phase of the Southern Cities Economic Initiative (SCEI), a program led by the National League of Cities (NLC) aimed at strengthening local economies and boosting economic mobility.
As part of the initiative, Center Point will receive a second “implementation” grant totaling $42,500 from NLC, funded through SCEI’s philanthropic partners. The city is one of 14 municipalities from across the Southeastern United States chosen to participate in the program, which focuses on developing strategies to drive long-term economic growth and expand opportunities for residents.
