Today more people believe what they read and see on social media and the internet than the daily papers. The old commercial said it all when the girl said “If it’s on the internet, it must be true.” In-depth investigating, no matter the story, has become a thing of the past, just look at what’s trending on your cell phone and take it as gospel. How did this happen? When did our attention spans shorten to the blink of an eye, how is it possible we listen to modern “snake oil salesmen” and decide it’s fact, no need for any further delving into the substance of the occurrence. Watching people in a restaurant, sitting around a table, most are more absorbed in what the cell phone is promoting than the menu.
