FAIRBORN, Ohio (WKEF) — State investigators have determined that a fire at a local business was an act of arson.
According to the Ohio State Fire Marshal, Fairborn police and fire personnel were sent to the 130 block of North Broad Street after receiving reports of a business on fire on July 31, around 5:25 a.m.
When crews arrived, they found that both buildings of the business, Guardian Firestop, were vacant at the time of the fire.
No injuries were reported.
Officials said that local investigators surveyed multiple points of possible origin, but when nothing was found, assistance was requested from the State Fire Marshal’s Fire and Explosion Investigations Bureau (FEIB).
The Bureau’s investigators found several pieces of evidence from the scene suggesting the business was set ablaze on purpose and claiming the cause as arson, according to officials.
