The Atlantic City-area’s economy posted job growth of 4.2% during the first quarter of 2025, according to a South Jersey Economic Review produced by the William J. Hughes Center for Public Policy at Stockton University.
Jobs in restaurants and bars and retail recorded the largest increases, according to the report released Monday. The restaurant and bar sector saw 17% growth vs. the first quarter of 2024, while retail saw a 7.1% increase in jobs.
The region’s job growth outpaced the state’s 0.6% pace as well as the nation’s 1.3% pace, according to the report.
The report explores the economy in the Atlantic City metropolitan area, which includes Cape May and Atlantic counties.
