About 100 University of Michigan students, faculty and community members gathered in the Ross School of Business Thursday evening for OUTx, a presentation event featuring five Queer business-affiliated speakers sharing their experiences navigating coming out and how their lives changed as a result.
The event was hosted by Out for Business — a student organization empowering LGBTQ+ students in business — as part of a school-wide effort to highlight the LGBTQ+ community within the Business School.
Business graduate students Jovanny Casillas, OFB co-president, and Prashant Kandoi, OFB vice president of events, opened the event, where Kandoi described the purpose behind this year’s theme, “We’re still here.”
