A new documentary released by The R&A today [August 31] tells the remarkable story of two Walker Cup players whose careers took very different paths after meeting at Royal Aberdeen in 2011.
MARGINS, a 27-minute film released ahead of the 51st Walker Cup, which is being held at Lahinch Golf Club in Ireland from September 5-6, explores the fine margins that can shape the careers of even the most talented amateur golfers through the contrasting journeys of James Byrne and Jordan Spieth.
Byrne defeated the then teenage Spieth as Great Britain and Ireland secured a memorable 14-12 victory over the USA. Both were among the leading amateurs of their generation, but what happened next was very different.
