There is still uncertainty surrounding proposed plans for a data center in Callaway County.
Crusoe, a Denver-based AI company, is planning to develop a data center on 200 acres in the northwest Kingdom City area.
Western Commissioner Christopher Scott and Presiding Commissioner Gary Jungermann explained what they knew about the project to the Fulton Rotary Club on Wednesday.
To his knowledge, Scott said there has not been a land purchase or an agreement with the water district. He said Crusoe anticipated signing an agreement with Callaway Electric Cooperative this week, but the process has been delayed.
“It’s not an absolute done deal,” Scott said, adding “Nothing is concrete. They are still planning like it’s going to happen, but there is nothing that we’re aware of that is signed to make it happen.”
