PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A new report highlights the economic impact of hotels in Phoenix as the city continues to attract major sporting events and visitors.
Arizona has become a tourism destination, hosting major sporting events including the WM Phoenix Open, Final Four games, College Football Playoffs and the Super Bowl. These events have brought tens of thousands of people into the Valley, with most staying at hotels.
A new report from the American Hotel and Lodging Association found that visitor dollars are circulating through the local economy beyond hotel stays.
“The revenue that’s generated from these hotels that goes back into local economies provides plenty for building bridges, libraries and schools and also jobs that are connected to the industry,” said Brett Horton, chief advocacy officer of the American Hotel and Lodging Association.
