Theatrikos Theatre Company has long played a leading role in Flagstaff’s arts scene.
For more than five decades, Theatrikos Theatre Company has enriched Flagstaff’s cultural landscape by nurturing engaging and innovative theatrical performances while creating space for local talent, audiences and arts education.
The Founding Story
“In 1972, Doris Harper-White and a group of her friends met in the basement of the Weatherford Hotel with the goal to create a vibrant, inclusive space where local talent could flourish and the performing arts could thrive,” said Executive Director Jeremy Blunt.
The company found a permanent home in 1989 in a historic 1920s-era building on West Cherry Avenue that had been the Elks Lodge and later Flagstaff’s first library. It was renamed the Doris Harper-White Playhouse in 2002.
