FLASH: While the Japanese stock market boomed in reaction to the landslide victory of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), there is not yet any strong reaction from the bond or currency markets. The scale of victory means that Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi can decide on her budget policy without having to do more than she wants because she needs votes from the Opposition parties, nor less than she wants due to opposition from fiscal hawks within her party and/or the Ministry of Finance (MOF). For example, she opposed a cut in the consumption tax while running for the LDP leadership….
