ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) – Orson Burton, Jr. became the president and CEO of the United Way of Southwest Georgia just 19 days ago.
“It’s an incredible honor to be able to have the opportunity to serve in this role,” Burton said.
Though new to the position, Burton is already going full throttle as he leads the organization through its biggest fundraising effort of the year — the annual campaign.
The “United We Care” fundraising campaign officially kicked off Thursday at Albany State University. The goal is to raise $650,000 between now and Dec. 18.
