PRICE — Brock Johansen, CEO of Emery Telcom and chairman of the Carbon/Emery Economic Development Committee, was the keynote speaker at the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce Luncheon held on Aug. 21, 2025. He discussed current projects and goals of Emery Telcom, as well as economic development in Carbon and Emery counties, primarily focusing on energy production and incentivizing new private businesses to the region.

Johansen has been with Emery Telcom for 20 years, originally working as the company attorney. At the time, the company only had fiber between Green River and Price, and Price and Castle Dale. The company was working on a capital budget of about $1.5 million. Today, the company has fiber throughout the entire state, with lines that extend into Colorado and now Arizona, and in the next three years the company is looking to put $95 million into projects.
